A general view of the Nam Theun 2 power station at the foot of the escarpment of the Nakai Plateau in the Nam Kathang Valley. The water from the 3,500 million cubic metre capacity reservoir, covering up to 450 square kilometres falls 220 metres down a pressure shaft before passing through the turbine generators.
